Feline Feet

Musing SpotMusing SpotMusing SpotMusing SpotMusing SpotI’ve been looking for a pair of slip-ons to replace my trusty, old and worn out Tom’s and the solution came from Laurel by Kurt Geiger. The fact that it was a feline-print sealed the deal.

All Black Everything

The Cut

musing spotThis weekend I got a new haircut. I’ve been thinking about doing it for a while and finally went for it. The inspiration was Daria Werbowy’s style seen here. I don’t spend much time on my hair, so I like the the low-maintenance aspect of this cut. Plus it’s perfect for spring and summer.

This is an impromptu shoot of what I wore to work yesterday. There’s nothing “in the moment” about the look. It’s just something I put together for a day on the go. I think these go-to looks tell more about our personal style than the ones that are more thought out and “new”. Given that both my shirt and watch are from the men’s section, it’s safe to say that my go-to style is a mix of masculine and feminine.

DETAILS: cargo pants: JCrew (old, similar here); shirt: Converse One Star – Men’s (old); bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs; sunglasses: American Eagle; watch: Citizen Eco Drive; belt: Tarox

Had this been a solid colored pencil skirt, this look would have still been perfectly fine. But it’s details like a neon side-stripe and an exposed zipper that elevate it to a whole new level.

Double Leather Look

musing spot

I admit, a couple of years ago I would not have combined a leather-look skirt with a leather-look top, but leather was big for fall and judging from the spring 2013 collections, it won’t be leaving the scene any time soon. And since less is not more with this trend, I went for double. I chose similarly black sneakers to keep the whole look monochrome and casual – just the way I usually like it.

DETAILS: leather effect skirt: Zara; faux leather T-shirt: SheInside, sneakers: Nike Free Run; aviators: Ray-Ban; watch: CK Calvin Klein (old, but similar here)
