When I ordered this tank a while back from the Rag & Bone website, it was on sale and it clearly stated that the number could not be chosen by the purchaser. Instead, a random one would be sent, based on their inventory. I was hoping for an odd number, so I was pretty happy with my nine.
The Coachella festival just wrapped up this weekend and if you haven’t already noticed, the coverage of what people are wearing is almost as important as who is performing. I wasn’t one of the lucky attendees, but given that the weather in LA this weekend was equally sunny as in Indio, I decided to dress as if I was there. I love this vintage top that my mom gave me. The lovely embroidery is all done in beads. I figured it’s a perfect stand out piece with a pair of cutoffs and ankle boots.
This is an impromptu shoot of what I wore to work yesterday. There’s nothing “in the moment” about the look. It’s just something I put together for a day on the go. I think these go-to looks tell more about our personal style than the ones that are more thought out and “new”. Given that both my shirt and watch are from the men’s section, it’s safe to say that my go-to style is a mix of masculine and feminine.
Had this been a solid colored pencil skirt, this look would have still been perfectly fine. But it’s details like a neon side-stripe and an exposed zipper that elevate it to a whole new level.
I admit, a couple of years ago I would not have combined a leather-look skirt with a leather-look top, but leather was big for fall and judging from the spring 2013 collections, it won’t be leaving the scene any time soon. And since less is not more with this trend, I went for double. I chose similarly black sneakers to keep the whole look monochrome and casual – just the way I usually like it.
